Picked up an the September issue of Oprah earlier today and read a great article titled the six objects of desire. These referred to six key pieces that would instantly add style and class to your wardrobe without breaking the bank (allegedly) this season.
The objects of desire are as follows:
The Bold Shoulder Bag - very "in" this season and a great benefit to all as the shoulder bag is very versatile as it can usually convert to a clutch. Suggestions were for items from Nine West($39), Coach ($398) and Fendi ($1620).
The Sculpted Black Dress - You just can't go wrong with the little black dress and this season they are big on shape and detail. Suggestions include Calvin Klein ($128), Byron Lars Beauty Mark ($295) and Searle ($598)
The Wow Necklace - One great necklace can truly transform any piece in your wardrobe. Outlandish suggestions included Shelly Saber For GS Lillian ($95), Elie Tahari ($398) and Beavaldes ($670).
The Chunky Knit Jacket - Nice to see these back in vogue again. Suggestions include the excellent value Victor by Victor Alfaro ($130), a long nubby gray from Walter ($268) and a knit stretch cardigan from Lutz & Patmos ($595).
The Sexy Heels - With deep purply reds being all the rage this season this high steppers will certainly see you making an entrance. Great value from Colin Stuart in the Victoria's Secret Catalog ($70). In the mid-range we have Charles David ($215) and none other than Christian Louboutin with a pair of real stunner ($595)
The Coat That Makes an Entrance - The final category and again Oprah's team are right on the money. Check out superb offerings from Spiegl, a silvery textured beauty (only $119). Mackage offer a soft gray with an elegant double collar ($693) and finally Marc by Marc Jacobs offers a patent leather diamond decorated number ($1200)
So there you have it. Some seriously hot fashions and surprisingly affordable apart from the Fendi maybe.
