Logo Love

Boots can be about fashion just as much as they are about keeping your feet safe and warm. They come in all shapes and sizes, but for those who want to make a statement that no one can miss, there are boots that scream designer in no uncertain terms.
Take for example the Coach “Joyous” boot. Granted, it may not be for everyone. For one thing, the cuff is made from rabbit fur, and there are quite a few people these days that are not at all interested in supporting the fur industry. But even if you aren’t necessarily concerned about saving the bunnies, you may not be the type who wants everyone to know just how much you love Coach.
As if the logo canvas were not enough, the huge Coach medallion on the side could just very possibly be considered overkill. Let’s face it, if you’re wearing these you are either a diehard fan, or you really want people to know that you are wearing designer boots. Possibly both. You definitely have to have a little bit of an attitude to get away with so much logo love.
The sole is rubber and the base of the boot is patent leather. It is actually a bit more tolerable in its black incarnation where the logos don’t stand out as much. That being said, the boot design itself is not exactly chic. It is much more of a utilitarian style, appropriate for wearing to the lodge after a day on the slopes, or to take help the kiddies make a snowman. But really, do you need to pay $248 for boots that are destined to be muddied and stained within their very first season?
Speaking of logos, the Fendi Tobacco Zucca canvas and leather boot certainly leaves no doubt that you are
wearing boots by one of the premier designers on the planet; but with its styling, this particular boot is much more at home in professional and dress casual ensembles. It is certain to last for many seasons, possibly a lifetime with proper care. The high shaft lends itself to wearing with both long and short skirts, and with the low heel it is comfortable for every day wear while traversing the city.
The Fendi boot has a much higher price tag than the Coach boot; it is currently sold on BlueFly.com for $792. It is also much more versatile and has an obviously higher designer profile than the Coach Joyous boot. Fendi has been making fine handbags and other leather goods since 1925. The ‘double F’ logo (also known as the zucca) is known around the world on sight and immediately associated with fine couture.
Wearing logos can be a great way to show your love for your designer, or it can be a way to show off. It’s all about how you wear it. Keep in mind that a sophisticated fashionista doesn’t have a need to prove her style. The logos she wears are incidental to her style, not the foundation of it.
