The clutter controls your space, which in turn hinders your ability to manage your affairs. I recently helped someone de-clutter their large home, something I do on the side - simplify. A single person living in a large three story home with 25 years worth of stuff, who couldn't move on because of the stuff everywhere. When we removed the excessive furniture, nick-nacks and slowed daily purchasing habits we were able to remove more than half of the homes possessions. With this simple and long step, the house was sold and the owner was able to comfortably move into a house half the size, cutting expensive and creating more free time for life and work.
